The 2009 NASA Northeast race season started with a day of testing and NASA competition license school at Pocono International.

The weather was uncharacteristically nice.  It wasn’t warm, but Pocono is usually wet and very cold in late March.  In addition to being one of the instructor cars for the NASA Northeast comp school, I got the chance to pop off a few laps.

The car ran very well and we got a few setup ideas for when we head to Watkins Glen in early May.  The new motor is running great, and the feel of the car was also very good.  We just need to work on setup items now to loosen the car up (alot!) and it should be great.  My fastest lap of the day was a 53.8, significantly faster than the 2008 car and there’s more speed in the car than was shown today.

Next event is another round of testing on May 5-6 at Watkins Glen International.
